What is the best season to go fishing in Kona?

In Kona there is no fishing season; we catch big fish year round. The Pacific blue marlin, which can be over 1,000 pounds, is caught year round. During winter, we typically find Striped marlin and Pacific shortnose spearfish. Another of our great sport fish in Kona is Ahi (yellow fin tuna). We catch these mostly from May through November.

If you would like to target a specific species, or, if you would prefer to target catch smaller fish, let us know.

Do you allow guest to keep fish?

Yes! We are happy to cut up your catch-as much as can reasonably be enjoyed while you're here.

The exception is billfish, which, unless dead when brought up, are tagged and released.
